These steps will show you how to change your JumpCloud password on your Windows and MacOS device.

Follow this guide only if your work with a company device that's managed by JumpCloud.

If you work on a personal device that's not managed by JumpCloud, then you can change your work account's password by login to JumpCloud's User Portal: https://console.jumpcloud.com/login. Once you've logged in, go to the "Security" tab where you will be able to change your password.

  • On your Mac device, find the JumpCloud icon which is located in the Menu Bar of your computer. This same icon is located in the Taskbar of a Windows device.

  • This is where you find JumpCloud's icon on Windows.

  • You can hoover with your mouse around the "Your device password is up-to-date" text and you will see the option to reset your account's password. Click on "Reset Password".

  • You will be asked to type in your current password, and then to enter a new password twice. If you see an additional field that mentions TOTP token, it means that you need to pass Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) using your preferred Authenticator app on your phone (Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator, JumpCloud Protect, etc).
  • Once you click on "Save", if everything was correct, your password was successfully changed, otherwise, double check the information you've provided.

You will start using your new password to login to your device and to your Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, OneDrive, SharePoint, etc) and to JumpCloud's User Portal.
