If you ever come across an email that seems suspicious, you can easily report it to Simultech IT using our Outlook add-in called Phishing Tackle (or Phishing Hook). This tool allows you to quickly flag any dubious emails, ensuring they are promptly reviewed by our IT team.

Phishing Tackle (or Phishing Hook) is only available in some of our clients. If you can't see this on your Outlook application it's because this tool is not deployed in your organisation. If you'd like to add it to your organisation, let us know by sending us an email to [email protected]

This guide will show you how to report a phishing/suspicious email from your Outlook application to our team in Simultech IT so that we can deal with the email and prevent the sender from reaching any other mailbox in the organisation. This helps protect you and your colleagues.

  • Identify a suspicious email you've received in your inbox and click on the email.
  • In the suspicious email, near the options to Reply, Reply all, and Forward, you'll see an icon that looks like a hook.

  • Once you click there, a slider menu will open for the Phish Hook. You will see the following information:
    • Who's the person/account that sent you the phishing/suspicious email.
    • The subject of the email.
  • Once you're confident that you want to report the selected email, click on "Report Suspicious Email" button

  •  Simultech IT team will receive the notification and investigate to make sure you and your colleagues are protected.
  • For the phish/suspicious email you report:
    • DON'T click links, open/download attachments, or forward the email.
    • DON'T reply to the sender.
    • DON'T call phone numbers provided in the message.

Reporting suspicious activity and emails provides insight into cybercriminal activities and helps our Cybersecurity team stay on top of threats.
